Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / 25 days pregnant question
- By donna0808 [gb] Date 23.02.12 12:48 UTC
hi all my medium size breed girl is 25 days pregnant from 2nd mating, she has shown no signs of being pregnant, no sickness nipples are slighly bigger
shes a very slim girl anyway, i keeping having a feel but dont seem to have changed in size.
she did lose a bit of brown snotty discharge last week no smell and none since, fine in herself, eating drinking and still playing
im getting her scanned monday evening just so eager to find out and see has people had this before in their girls,
should she be showing now.
she missed last time this time mated on days 12,13,14, last time she was mated 1st time day 11,
hope someone would be able to give a bit of info thanks

Nope definitely wouldn't' expect to see a change in shape this early in one of mien (also medium size breed), to be honest to the untrained eye none of mien look pregnant until about 7 weeks and I can start to say I think she is at 5 1/2.

Years ago I had my Kizi (now at the bridge) scanned at 25 days as she was so skinny and not eating, and she was pronounced pregnant and went on to have the largest litter mine have had of 9 over average size puppies.

I agree too early for outward signs of pregnancy. Hope you get good news from the scan.

What I have found after witnessing 4 phantoms in the same bitch is if the signs are early they are not pregnant just pretending, she did get pregnant last year and the outward signs appearred at the same time as my other bitch, she unfortunately gave birth to a stillborn pup that I couldn't revive and 2 partly absorbed pups, she has now been spayed as she was too old to try again.

>she has shown no signs of being pregnant,

Impatient!!  :-)  :-)

I would expect it to be another 4 weeks!  I don't have mine scanned, as so many bitches that are shown pregnant, end up being not pregnant!  Presumably due to reabsorption.  I don't want to know until I am postive that they are pregnant.  But I am very patient!    :-)

Patience patience patience I would say.

If she is then she is if not the so be it.

My girl did show signs by 25 days (smallish breed) big nipples and mucus discharge. I didn't scan and went with the flow of what will be will be. She ran like a looney and did all of her usual mad stuff even till the morning of the day she gave birth

4 plump pups later
