Has anyone tried DAP pheramone collars to help nervous/scred puppies with socialising? If so any feedback or advise?

Haven't tried them myself, but I was speaking to lady the other day who used one on an adult small dog who was very nervous. She said it made a real difference to her dog, and she would recommend them.

I know people that have used them with success.
I put one on my Gwen, aged about 11 months as she seemed to suddenly be scared of everything, shes 14 months now,and still worried about traffic, people, other dogs, etc, though I think theres been some improvement.I bought a second one, anyway!I remember Jess (3)went through a similar fear stage, and shes fine now, quite confident,so Im hoping time will work for Gwen ,too.
Each dog is individual with these type of things. I would try rescue remedy or calm aid as you can time it better. Try looking up a beapharm collar as the phermone part is stronger than DAP collars beapharm are 6% compared to 2% for orignal DAP collars. Also one size fits all. I have used the spray to good effect on bandannas around the dog's neck if problems can be isolated down to specific times as spray lasts a lot longer than collar. I use about 5 pumps for any size dog I don't buy size issue try working with sniffer dogs. If it's there they'll smell it, getting you to use more means you buy more, rescue remedy for humans is not size specific, it either works or not.

I may be wrong, but I think the Beaphar ones are no longer available (in this country at least).
Can you give some background as to why you think DAP is necessary to socialise this puppy - perhaps there are some other suggestions we can make...
Many youngsters can get a bit spooked so you may need to try some different strategies before resorting to DAP. Are you getting some help from your breeder or your training class?
