Can anyone recommend a good 1L vacuum flask.  One that doesn't cost the earth but will keep water hot for 6/8 hours.  I have looked on the internet but there are 1000's all claiming to be good ;-)  I have got one (from a supermarket) but it doesn't keep the water hot for very long.
Many thanks

Jax :-)

No specific recommendations, but I find that the stainless steel or plastic ones are fairly useless. You need good old (breakable!) glass for them to work properly, I think.

I got one from asda to put soup in to take to work. Its a plastic one and keeps food really hot for a long time. However I've found the best way to keep things really hot is to put boiling water in it the night before and leave it overnight. The water usually still had steam coming off it the following morning and the flask is very warm before I add food or drink. Without doing this the contents goes colder much quicker

I have both litre and half litre stainless steel flasks and as long as I warm the flask first (half fill with hot water and close for a few minutes) then both water and soup stay hot for a show day.
