Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Cream discharge after mating
- By Zajak [gb] Date 19.02.12 19:14 UTC
My friend's bitch has a cream coloured discharge two weeks after mating.  No smell and bitch well in herself and eating fine.  My girls have had this if pregnant but usually later on in pregnancy at around 4-5 weeks.  Any comments?

One of my bitches had the same from 2 and a half weeks after mating all through pregnancy and went on to have a healthy litter of nine pups.If she were m ine i would not be worried.

My girl had the same about three weeks after mating, I panicked and phoned the stud owner for re-assurance she said as long as it was not offensive then it was normal so I sniffed my girl (sorry to sound gross) all smelt fine and things have progessed well since then

Sounds normal to me.

My eldest girl had this 11 days after breeding and just one day. As there were no smell, the studowner  ment it was probably sign of pregnancy. She was right. Wilma had 4 lovely pups.
So I would not worry right now. However if smelly or change in colour ,of to the vet.

Thanks all, will pass the info on.  Pretty much what I said to her but wanted to check with other breeders.
