Just received this reply from someone who is advertising their collie as 'eye checked' and 'all clear on hips'. Makes very interesting reading.
Hi Marisa
He's not KC registered yet as we need to get the information from his breeders (both parents owned by same people, not breeders just pets but lots of history with his family background) because of this he cannot be hip scored but he has had full xrays and full approval from the vets.
He has just been eye tested and everything is fine.
He has never been used before but he has had a lot of interest from people that have seen him and this is why we have put him up for stud.
He was a first litter and I keep in touch with his parents owners plus the other pups (3 girls) owners, one of them has said that if he produces pups her parents would want one.
Hope this helps, new to this but he is an absolute stunner and would produce fantastic pups.
If you need any further info or would like to see him please do not hesitate to contact me.
Haha love it - BBB - bullsh*t baffles brains !!
Is there actually a grain of truth anywhere in it ?

They may believe that he can't be hip scored, so a message back to say as long as the details of his permanent ID are on the x-ray plates they can be sent to BVA for scoring, ditto eye testing.

Wrote to her to say, amongst other things, that it would only cost £13 to put him on the KC Activity Register and then she could have all the tests done officially (and by qualified people, not her vet lol). Expecting a tirade back, that's what usually happens.
