hi can a bitch that is just over 2 weeks pregnant have her anal glands empited,
she has a fishy smell coming form her bum no discharge or discomfort, is it ok to do it now or wait, shes due for a scan in 2weeks so will know then if she is pregnant,
dont want to do it if it will cause any problems,

It won't cause any problems at all if you can do it efficiently and it does not bother her.  I would maybe try and see if it does not stress her too much perhaps the vet might do it for you and if not you need to keep a close eye that they are not impacting or becoming infected.

ok thankyou my mum can do it with no probs i dont fancy it myself shes pretty good lets you do what you want to her,
just didnt want it to cause probs in pregnancy thtas all

Is it definately her anal glands or has she got some sort of infection after mating?

i was thinking the same thing alfieshmalfie, its a infection kind of smell too! but if u know its not that then getting her anal glands sorted now is ok. x

I think to be safe I'd get the vet to do it - to be sure its not an infection from mating.

thanks for your replies i had a smell sorry to be so in detail and it is from her bum, the next day the smell was only slight and she had a slight yellowish stain around her bum
i did notice yesterday that after she went to wee she had brown discharge from her lady bits like snot again sorry for detail,
like the end of a period colour no smell,
could this be a sign she is pregnant,
shes fine in herself, eating drinking, no change in temperment,

could be a sign of pregnancy - but could also be a sign of infection  - def worth getting her checked x

yes i will just incase, she hasnt lost any discharge today either
