As you no I will be hopefully getting my lil boy sometime in June- if all works out with the breeding- so excited.
Italian Mastiff (Cane Corso) puppy!
A lil deli-ma no one likes the name Eddie and now have to come up with another name.

I have thought of  Ranocchio which means frog in Italian, Canis (ka-nis)- just not sure so if you have
any different unique names I am all ears. I don't want anything evil lol

Thank you

So Lucifer and Satan are out then. :-D

Well, re: the breed what about just Cane then? As a pup and when being soppy he can be Canie (Cany)

How about Mickey , short for Michael Caine !

You'll just have to hope he doesn't 'blow the bl**dy doors off '!!!
- By JoStockbridge [gb] Date 09.02.12 12:03 UTC

Have also thought of Elmo- thought it was cute. Told Hubby I was gonna

So hard to name a puppy when you don't have him yet :-(

> So hard to name a puppy when you don't have him yet

Exactly - so I don't, I make a list of names and jot them down in a book.  Then I let them settle a while, cross out the ones I've changed my mind about, add a few more and wait until the pup has been born.  It's lot easier to decide once you've met your new pup! :)

Armani or Chianti - too chav? :)  Julius or Cesar (too dog food related) or Brutus (sounds like a thug); Romeo (might be asking for trouble); Bruno!  I really enjoy thinking up names for pups, so how did I end up with Misty and Foxy?  Lol.

I'd have to be very obvious and go for something like Paolo.. primarily because of the Italian influence of course, but also it happens to be the first name of a fave football player of mine :)

None of my girls have ever had their intended names. Heidi was meant to be Mya and Megan was meant to Fiona or Bridget. Brian was always going to be Brian and Kody came with his name.

I make a list of character names or actor names that take my fancy on the TV, I also try and work them into reg.names for the future and check availability on KC website, normally when I am having a sleepless night due to pain.

Having said that my latest addition I have given the name Maizie, that is what I was going to call my first dachsie puppy but ended up getting a male instead which I called Rhuari, I have hung on to the name for nearly 8 yrs and as Maizie is the great neice of Rhuari it seemed appropriate she got the name.

Can anyone think of any names for a girl husky pup

We are at a blank
- By Rhodach [nl] Date 14.02.12 09:14 UTC
Some folk pick names from the breeds country of origin.

There is a great site in Aus. which includes a huge section on dog names their meaning and country of origin.

I have been making a list, which seems to be growing- thanks for the link :-)

Can't wait to get him- now its just the waiting time to see if she took
and the hopes that she throws a lot of boys for me to pick through lol

Huskey name- Chinook- my friends named hers that- beautiful dog.

I wanted to call my red (husky) girl Amber but she became Foxy.  I still love Amber for a red. Mishka is a lovely name too.  I also like Inca and Kia.  Perhaps one of these would suit her personality? :)

I like the name Fausto for an Italian dog! Nando was very nearly Fausto, but for some reason it ended up as Nando- I think my niece made it up! Everyone assumes he's named it after Fernando Torres or the chicken restaurant, but I'm a vegetarian who doesn't have the slightest interest in football! LOL

lol
I keep going back to Eddie- but sure once we get him and I spend time with the lil mam
then I will no for sure. I do wanna try for an Italian Name but we will see. I def
have a long list of names lol
- By furriefriends Date 17.02.12 15:25 UTC
fausto is great Josh as yu say for the right dog. Oh yes chinook like that one for a husky or similar. My gsd was nearly Jaegar (hunter) changed at last minute. Would stilllike to use it though

I'm already thinking of names for a HWV that i won't have for ( hopefully ) years yet ! lol

I had intended Spuds pedigree name to be Bazooka Joe, but in the end i was too emotionally attached to Merchant Reiver which is the one he ended up with, so my HWV might end up with Bazooka Joe as a pet name.

I named Spuds mum Celeste after a cult ( Celestines ) in a book I enjoyed. I had a chuckle the other day in Tesco's when I heard a very proper voice calling on her young daughter who had the same name, I could just imagine her face if i'd told her my SBT had had that name too, possibly not so unusual after all.
- By parrysite [gb] Date 17.02.12 20:44 UTC
Nando was very nearly Jaegar, too Chris! Only this was after the drink Jaegermeister haha
- By Polly [gb] Date 17.02.12 21:07 UTC
For the Husky girl pup because of their colouring I'd probably want something like Ice Queen or Ice for short.

> I do wanna try for an Italian Name

Italian eh? How about:

Arlo, Brando, Carlo, Cosmo, Dino, Elmo, Enzo, Gino, Leo, Luca, Nico, Rico, Rocco, Santo, Tino, Tito, Vito, Zeno.

Good luck, I expect you'll know when you see him.
- By dollface Date 18.02.12 15:53 UTC
I like Elmo :-)
- By Polly [gb] Date 18.02.12 22:22 UTC
I'd name him Aldo.
