just moved to france and want to show , i have a UK Sh Ch, do I enter in the Ch class? or do I need to gain CAC's first? Do i have to register him with French KC first? Any info on what to do over here gratefully recieved! thanks

He would need to go in the Champions class at Int shows as far as I know, though you need to read the shows class definitions for the French shows, as there are different rules for the French as opposed to international shows.

Live in Uk but have shown in France. We have never needed to register with French KC, you can enter Champion Class with your UK title and when entering you will be asked to provide a copy of the certified KC certificate. If entering online you can attach a file copy from your PC or enclose a copy with your paper entry form. Unlike UK if entry via paper copy payment is made direct to the shows bank account - the bank details are listed on entry form.

see  http://www.cedia.fr/default.asp?LG=GB  for shows

I thought you didn't have to enter the champions class.  Only if your dog is a champion in that country? Otherwise how do you become a champion in other countries?

you still compete for ticket from Champion. Some countries do allow Res ticket to be converted if the dog winning ticket is confirmed Ch in that country so if for example a Dutch Ch won a ticket in Holland the RCAC would be upgraded to a CAC as well.

Hi Jenny, I live in France and since being here have started to show my dogs.  If your dog is a UK Sh Ch you don't have to put it in the Champion class here as once in champion you can't compete for the CAC which you will need to become a French Champion.  You don't have to have your dogs registered in the SCC system unless you intend to breed from them and register the puppies in Fance.  Entering the shows and the actual show is easy and very friendly but it does drag out a little you usually can't leave the show until a certain time  sometimes 4pm.  Whereabouts are you in France?  Please PM me if you have any questions I'd be happy to help and if you are anywhere near me perhaps we could meet up at a show.

Best wishes

That is what I meant about different countries having different national class rules, and FCI Int show rules differing again.

So you really need to read the rules and class definitions/qualifications carefully.

That goes for p-eople competing from abroad in the UK.  Wasn't a Crufts group winner disqualified because it had entered Post Graduate class, but already had US championship points, and dogs that have won any award that counts towards the title of champion in any organisation with which the KC has reciprocal arrangements cannot enter the dog in Post Graduate.

Yep my mistake .. in France the Champion Class excluded from CAC but compete for CACIB. Smacks wrist for misinformation !!

Have just heard back from Cedia, they say i cant compete for the CAC in the Ch class so have to transfer to the Open class. Oh well I'll do that and see what happens! My french isnt very good, so lets see what class he ends up in!!  Thanks for everyones input on the topic.

its great, really looking forward to going now. Another question how do you write here without repling to a personal post? I clicked reply on kibs last post, but i also want to just say things without actually directing it to the last person on here?
- By Harley Date 17.02.12 14:36 UTC
Your reply will just follow on after the others - if you wish to reply to someone in particular you can click on the reply button at the bottom of their post. This will bring up the blank box for you to type your reply into and will also show the post that you clicked on. If you look at the bottom left corner of the other poster's reply you will see a small rectangle with speech marks in it - click on this, highlight the part of the reply you wish to respond to and it will appear in your typing box as a quote :-

If you are just replying in general and it's not directed at anyone in particular just click on the reply button for the last person who posted - the replies are listed in chronological order and not underneath the person you are replying to.
