I have just purchased "Essential Care for Dogs" authors "Jackie Drakeford and Mark Elliott"mrcvs. This is a brilliant book for anyone who is thinking of buying a new puppy or even those of us who have had our pets for years. The book is written with comonsence and good knowledge of the dog in general, there are plenty of good sensible tips too. has anyone else discovered this book ?

Mark was our homoeopathic vet when we lived in Hampshire and gave several fascinating talks on the subject at my dog club. Tip top vet!

Yes I have it along with its companion volume, Essential Care in the Field for both working and pet dogs.

I also have "The Essential Care in the field for both Working dogs and pet dogs, in fact I bought this one first. What a shame there aren't more sensible books like these. Mark has mentioned about possibly wrtting another book, I just can't wait!!

I am part way through mine now.  I am very, very interested to see that he recommends Dr Ian Dunbar for training methods.

So Mark gets the thumbs up from me!   Great book, I'm really enjoying it.
