The last 3 rescue dogs I have taken in have been chipped with PetLog chips. What a nightmare it is trying to get though to them on the phone. Option 3 tells you that they are experiencing a high volume of calls and then CUTS YOU OFF. Option 2 is for vets & rescue centres who have found a dog and option 1 for if you have lost a dog wasn't even given yesterday. I got through on option 2 to try to register our Rescue as the temporary keeper of the dogs and they refused to do it and said they couldn't transfer me to admin. Imagine the situation of losing your dog on a walk, trying to ring PetLog, no option 1 available, option 3 cuts you off & option 2 is the wrong option so they won't deal with it. Any future dogs that I have chipped I will make sure it is not a PetLog chip. Surely they should have a duty of care to communicate with their clients. I don't mind being put in a queue and if they tell you your position in the queue, you can decide to hang on or not. To cut you off is diabolical and really bad practise. It is also a premium rate number. Again, totally unacceptable not to have a local number alternative.

I agree, however if it is not an urgent call there is an email address given on the website.

Sure, but we are presuming that everybody has computer access which is not always the case.

Oh, yes absolutely, and I would be following up your phone complaint, which I doubt has been noted, with a written one but I was referring to getting the log in on your rescues and guessed that you do have a computer :)

Is PetLog the company that was offering free address updates etc last year, around June? If so, I had no idea it was a premium rate number and I was speaking to them for ages....

I have had no further confirmation that my address was updated after the call, and as to the other chip I enquired about I was told it 'wasn't one of theirs' but they would send me a form. Still waiting!

Something like that I think I would always like to do by snail mail or email at least and ask for confirmation.
