I have been studying potential studs and past used studs and comparing sibling, parent and progeny results, I am amazed at how many pups some have sired, 60 + 70 in some cases in litters of 1-5 pups.

I have also picked up a few mistakes, in a couple of cases the studs have sired litters when they themselves have only been 3 or 4 months old which is impossible, one was the sire to my first litter, he had one 8 week old litter there when I went for the mating and my bitch was to be his second litter, so I was amazed to see he had sired a litter 13 months before mine were born when he was under 4 months old.

There were also males I know have been used a limited number of times having way more litters registered.

Should I tell the KC, as they don't belong to me would they take any notice?

Anyone else noticed mistakes like these in their breeds?

I would inform the stud dog owner.

The sire to my new bitch has sired 2 litters before he was born and her litter isn't mentioned at all but I have all her paperwork here.

I am wondering who is adding this info to the database that there are so many mistakes in just one small breed.

I will ring the KC later and contact the 2 stud owners this evening, one of them wasn't on the internet when I last had contact with her but that may have changed or she may have access from work.

I remember the day when we always wrote to each other :)

Just spoke to a lady at the KC, she said she thought the IT dept was aware of a problem but to email my concerns with examples as the more folk mentioning it the better.

The dam of my new bitch whelped 4 pups on the day she herself was born and 1 pup 5 months later and no mention of the 5 pups in my girls litter.

I think this is important in relation to the stud owner not being in a position to know mistakes had been made regarding use of their dog, so hadn't challenged it.

Yes, I do think she should be put in the picture but I was really a little tickled that the internet may be seen as the only way of communicating these days :)

Sadly a lot of times you only get a response if e-mailing. For instance I get replies if I e-mail the KC but not when I send a letter in the post! Not just in regards to the KC either.

The stud dog owner isn't on the internet!  :)
