Im due to pick up a boxer puppy in the next few weeks. What do you think the chances are that she will get along with my male cat. The cat is not scared of dogs and will stand his ground though not spit or growl just stand and refuses to move.

i found my cat tolerated pup up to a point.
Sometimes she will look on in amusement ( as though to say "puppy WHAT are you up to now") and other times he gets on her nerves and she will either hiss or raise her paw .
Its pretty crazy at times- especially when they are chasing each other around
How old is the cat?
I think as long as you dont exclude the cat ( especially when pup is getting all the fuss in those first days ) things will be ok - or bearable at least .
Mine tend to stay out of each others way now - although pup sometimes wants to play with her and doesnt understand why she wont .
