Hello all,

We have 17 week old Boxer and I noticed yesterday that his left ear is 'all of a sudden' sitting higher than his right ear. It also hangs/points forwards rather than hangs to the side. It really changes his side profile.

We were hoping to show him, but even to a laymen like me this would appear to be an obvious fault.

From this slightly odd and vague explanation, does any one have any thoughts?

Could it be temporary? As I say, we noticed it yesterday, is it worth going to the Vet, my wife thinks it may be an ear infection, and he's holding it differently - could that be possible?

Thanks

Ears do all sorts when pups are teething and he is the right age for that.

I thought "teething" first, and then saw Barbara's post!  I had a Yorkshire Terrier bitch with lovely ears that went down when her teeth were playing up.  She looked rubbish!  :-)

Totally agree with Brainless.  He is teething and over the course of the next few weeks/months his ear set will probably be all over the place.  Don't worry either if he starts to show the haw in his eyes.  Another common thing with young boxers.  Time will usually resolve the issue :-)
