is 30 days after mating too soon to expect signs of pregnancy, nothing much as changed she got a little swelling in nipples , appetite really good only difference is that she don't like my other girl and tries to put her in her place , they have always been very close up to the last few days, thanks

Ultrasound should find pups but physically except for signs that are just as likely with no pregnancy, would not expect to see anything before about 5 1/2 weeks in my breed (adult bitches 20kg), and that is only if you know what the bitches normal shape is very well.
The typical pregnant look often doesn't arrive until around 7th week when the horns have to fold because of the size of pups in an average to large litter.
I have had litters of 4 where apart from a slight pot belly when sitting there was nothing obvious.
You tend to see signs sooner with bitches who are having a subsequent litter where the muscles have been stretched before.

I wouldn't expect to see many signs this early in my small breed except the vulva and nipples have not gone back to pre season size.
If you want confirmation then get her scanned by someone who does them all the time as a job, vets doing early scanning don't appear to have good track record judging by comments on here when negative scans go on to produce pups. I scan at day 38/9 to confirm before I start worming regime and change to puppy kibble.
Or you could wait and see if she changes over the next couple of weeks.
Keep us posted
she is large breed and had 1 litter before , does anyone have phone number for scanner that will come to the home , yorks area , i asked the vet about scanning but you have to leave them at the vets all day and i really don't want to do that,

I've used the chap from Fit and Fertile in Preston but don't know how far he travels or if there is more than one scanner working for them.
I have read on here about sheep scanners doing theirs at home or meet up with them at a farm where they are scanning sheep that day,no sedation or shaving required.
I use a sheep scanner, no use to you as i am in Kent but much better than the scanner at the vets. Could clearly see pups at 30 days.
asked the vet about scanning but you have to leave them at the vets all day and i really don't want to do that, How daft -it only takes 10 minutes! If you're vet is playing silly, is there no other vet in the area that will do it properly?

I think that Keith from FIt and Fertile might do it. He can't tell you straight away when he can come as he waits to see how many people in a certain area contact him I think so he can do a number around the same area. I could tell with my girl at day 28, nipples were getting quite pink and vulva stayed swollen and didn't go back down to pre-season size. I think he likes to come day 28 from the second mating at least, he came to me day 28 from the first mating and counted pups easily. Just got to wait 2 more weeks now to see if he was right, though he did say there could be a couple more, though she's not as big as I would expect for the number he said.
well she is 33 days now and she looks like her shape is changing a little , i couldn't get in touch with keith so i might as well wait now and see how it goes but will start worming from 40 days anyway,
