Long shot I know but does anyone have a direct email or fax to someone at the Kennel Club so that i can send a letter getting my own bitches endorsements lifted. I bred her but just realised last night when i went to register her 3 week old pups that she still has endorsements on her.

can send a letter but would like to get them lifted and confirmation so I can make sure registration papers her for them going to their new homes in a month.

A month is plenty long enough to have the endorsments lifted and also register a litter, you will receive confirmation of them being lifted within a week and as you are doing the registrations on line you would have them back within a week also!

Normally would say yes but as it took months for the last letter to arrive at the owners home saying they had been lifted I was hoping to get the letter sent direct.

I don't think it is a problem as long as you give the owners a signed declaration that the registration has been applied for and the documents will follow. 
I applied for my affix at the same time as my first litter so my people waited a couple of months.  Nobody had any problem with that.

If you HAND WRITE a letter and scan it  (so they have your signature) and e-mail it to them they will lift an endorsement within 24 hours. Presumably fax would be the same but as I don't have a fax have not tried it. I had to e-mail it to web.registrations@thekennelclub.org.uk If you phone them they will tell you what to do anyway.

Trouble is mine are being exported so its slightly different as they going as soon as able so dont want any hold ups.
Will ring KC later to see if they can give me a direct email

If you're an AB you can't do that, you have to give the reg cert out at time of sale.

Not quite :)  The requirement is:

I have done this several times, twice with bitches and once when using a dog I bred, just ring them and get put through to reg department, tell them that you will be lifting the endorsements and as soon as they have your letter they will continue the registration process.

The last occasion they rang me to say 'mmm can you lift the endorsement if you want this litter registered. LOL

Yes but the feedback form asks the new owner if the reg was received at time of sale! So instantly makes you look bad if it wasn't. The ABS wallet also lists things that should be in it.

Clearly it is something they audit but I would have thought, if they know the reason and it doesn't happen repeatedly, there would not be a problem.   You have not broken any rule after all :)

but you cant do the kennel club insurance without the registration doc
and I personally microchip mine as they leave and like to tie in that paperwork with the registration number
My sales contract is baised around having the microchip and the registration number in place on each and every puppy
hence i wished to get it all sorted now.

It won't hold things up more than the time it takes them to receive your letter, as long as you ring them as they will make a note, though if your doing on-line registration you will need to wait for the letter to be received by them.

When I e-mailed my letter it didn't even take 24 hours, more like 2!,they did it as soon as they got it, so no problems at all.

Yep my last litter was the same I emailed them the scan and posted the hard copy the same day. 

This was a paper registration process, as the sire was overseas.

They don't send the endorsement lifting confirmation letter to the owner of the dog/bitch, but to the person who placed the endorsement.

I have suggested to them countless times that a copy of the letter needs to go to the owners to avoid misunderstandings/issues.

I asked for them to be lifted on two bitches a few years ago, and when the owners of one asked me to confirm that it was lifted i found that KC had only confirmed on the one not the two I had asked for at same time.

Had I not been on close terms of trust with the bitches owners they may have thought I was trying to pull a fast one.

We have heard before about unethical use of endorsements used to obtain monies for removing them etc.

On a similar subject, can the new owner tell online whether the endorsements are lifted, if the confirmation letter goes to the breeder who requested they be lifted? I'm waiting for the endorsements to be lifted on my new puppy, breeder has decided to do it now in case they have emigrated and are harder to locate by the time my puppy is old enough and has passed all necessary health tests etc. I can pull up her name on my online account and there is no mention of endorsements, but none of my other dogs are endorsed so I don't know if they would normally have showed up. When her registration certificate came through last week with my affix added the endorsements were still there, and I don't know whether they send another certificate or not?

A few years back now I had the Endorsement lifted on a dog I bought in.  I just received a letter informing me of this, no new Registration Document.  I suppose you could then order another one which will show it lifted - just more money to the KC though!

Endorsements are not shown on your online account - as far as I'm aware - never seen them on there.

No, the owner is not informed at all so I always copy the letter and e-mail it or post it to them.

I endorsed my whole litter until I knew who I was keeping and who was going where.  Then (because I'm a bit OCD) when I went to exchange the 'breeder's certificate' for an 'owner's certificate' which the KC does FOC I included the letter lifting the endorsement.

For the OP rather than registering the litter online, what if you sent in the registration and included the letter lifting the endorsement with the litter registration?  I had to register mine by post this time as the sire was foreign, and it was back in days - not even a week.  Then when I lifted the endorsement as above, again it was days.  So certainly I can't imagine it holding up the process by much.

I routinely endorse everything I breed unless I know for sure that one is going abroad.

Consequently all my own bitches require the endorsments lifted - which the  KC do at any time and very quickly.

Well this certainly has not ever been the case in the past (before last year), as I have forgotten to lift endorsements on my own bitches and have known more than one lifted after the litter was born.

If it is a new ruling I would like to see it made much more public as I certainly have not had anything in my KC newsletters.

I endorsed the only male pup in the litter because I had no intentions of keeping a second male[the females were staying here or going to breeder friends], then he became pick of litter and show prospect so I hung on to him, the endorsement is still there till he produces any pups, from what has been said here I now need to get it lifted before I mate him to anything????

Maybe it depends on who is asking for the endorsement to be lifted, dogs breeder or new owner/breeder making enquiries with the KC re how to get it lifted and being told not to breed without being sure the endorsement has gone or the litter won't be registered.

I really don't think so as I know cases where the endorsements have stayed in place until the health tests were carried out, even with a litter on the ground (accidental littter), they just hsd to wait to register the pups.

No I usually just put a letter in with the registrations or get the owners too never had any problems with the KC doing it this way.

All my puppies are endorsed and, in the case of them not being owned by me, I only lift and endorsement oncea mating has occured and  a scan confirms a pregnancy, this applies to male or female. This of course apllies once the usual health tests etc have been carried out. My owners, dog or bitch, have to trust that I wil lift the endorsement once a pregnancy is confirmed but I tend to have relationships with my owners that are based on trust and a wilingness to allow the dog or bitch to add to the gene pool.

The last time I lifted an endorsement was AFTER the bitch had been mated -that was towards the end of last year.

Off on a little tangent now -we are all really lucky in that the KC does not charge to lift endorsements! The GCCF now charge £17 to change a cat from non active to active (exactly same thing as lifting breeding endorsement) and it's definitely making people think twice about whether they should bother to register as non active, as the cost to change it is so high. I have one cat myself that was reg'd as non active as he was going to be sold, then he ended up staying and now I need to change the registration.

Don't start giving the them ideas!!  Although if others are charging, I doubt it'll be long before the KC follows suit...

Just wanted to say Thank you to Goldmali again and let her know I had an email of the KC endorsements now lifted.

I was told over the phone it costs £5 to lift any endorsements????

If you want a duplicate registration cert which no longer shows it, then it costs but otherwise it's free.

Sounds like some staff are misleading or people are misunderstanding.

"How can these endorsements be removed from a dog's registration record?

To remove an endorsement, it is a simple matter for the person(s) who placed the endorsement to write in to the registration office and request that this be carried out."

nowhere does it mention any charge, and I have never been charged for lifting endorsements.

Thanks Barbara, Lincoln isn't going to be sold for breeding so I am not bothered what the paperwork I have says just that if he sires pups for me I can lift the endorsement I placed.
