There is to be a film part filmed here imminently. ' The potao peel pie society'.
Kenneth Brannagh and Kate Winslet and one lucky little local girl gets to play the 5 year old daughter.
Few if any locals relate to the book well, as it is not particulary true to local stuff, but everyone is relishing the publicity.
I wonder if there will be any call for dogs as extras................

My dog had a part in "Billy Elliot" as a guard dog at the pit. We had to teach him to bark on command etc and it was very exciting. I told all my friends and we all went to watch.........but he had ended up on the cutting room floor!

Well, you are quite correct, the excitement is for the publicity for the island and the spin offs rather than the 'show business' that goes with it.
