May be wrong but don't think you will be able to enter a cross breed at a champ show.

The 2 cross breeds are going as NFC[not for competition]

I thought that you could still only enter KC registered dogs NFC as you have to enter all their details on the entry form?
Just had a look at the SKC schedule on line and this is what it says for NFC.......... "18.Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered"

Yes, but any dog, pedigree, cross or heinz 57 can be KC registered - on the activity register :-)

Going back to the original question -wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just leave the other two at home? I don't like leaving dogs benched at shows at all, if we use the benches (which is quite rare) we put our chairs in front and stay with them, otherwise we just camp outside the ring. Now SKC can be awkward in that sometimes there is very little space ringside, and sometimes the benches are far from the rings. I also remember one year when it was raining and one of our benches was totally water logged as there was a gap in the tent just above it!

I have never seen NFC dogs at champ shows in my breed but would assume they will be benched with your others. However if you had two different breeds entered they would not be in the same pace, could even be in different tents, so I am not 100 % sure -might be best to call them and check.

Finally, if you have any dog that might find it hard to settle, bear in mind you are next to the airport so will have planes landing and taking off, and all champ shows with tents can have a lot of noise and flapping. I'm avoiding shows in tents altogether this year unless I am only showing my fully mature experienced dogs, after getting a pup totally utterly freaked out at SKC last year when the wind made the tent flap hard just as she was going into the ring -I've not been able to show her since as she is terrified of RINGS now. She will not even go near a ring. As soon as she spots the tape she pulls away. She didn't mind the planes, but the flapping tent was different. I'm thinking in future I may have to stand and wave something that makes a similar noise in puppies' faces to get them used to it.

Ahh Thanks Chaumsong. so if OP's crossbreed pooches are on the activity reg then that would be ok...logged into the old grey matter lol :-)

To answer part of the original question, the benching at SKC is in tents which are seperate from the ring, so you can be quite a walk away from your benches, and certainly not in sight of them.  This is why lots of people set up ring side, which in wet weather makes getting around the tents where the rings are a bit of a nightmare.  I would not be happy to leave any dog on the benches there unless secured and in a cage, unless you have someone who will stay with them, the benches are often next best thing to empty so a dog could get into difficulties and no one see for ages.

If only taking one dog you can set up by the ring - most people seem to do that, take a chair, blanket for dog maybe, if he is not crated  (which I presume not as he is a biggish breed) and watch ringside till you class.  It is taking the extra dogs which could be a problem.
