My friend has a friend who's looking for a puppy, she has found a breeder, but wondered if they are suitable for small children, she has a 3 yr, a 5 yr and a 6yr old! So far I've said I think they are a relatively gentle terrier breed, not sharp like some of them, and that a good breeder would want to see the children to see if they know how to behave with dogs. But I know virtually nothing about them really.

Only know one and she is fine, a typical terrier, they are however a relatively rare breed and therefore extra care will be needed in selecting the breeder as most quality breeders will have a long waiting list and your friend should be prepared for an equally long wait once the breeder of choice is found.

We met a group of them at an eye testing and they were all dog aggressive . In fact I owner warned us that though they were wagging their tails and trying to say hello to our dogs if they got any nearer they would have a go.

That would be normal for a group of most terriers although on their own they may not be quite so feisty.

I only know of one ,too,my friend rehomed a stud dog,he was very dog agressive, and killed a cat that ventured onto their garden!she loved him, though!

Think that what we need to know is does this prospective owner know what terriers are like, if they have owned terriers before and understands them they will find a Imaals a typical terrier but if they have owned in the past a hound or a gundog they may find it difficult to cope.

I know one he is an entire male and is a softy, a very cuddly gorgeous boy as good as gold.

He is a well bred boy and has a good home, so this probably goes a long way to helping him be so fab, but he really is fab!

Yes, that's true. I'll make that clear for my friend to pass on, thanks!
