
Yes, I absolutely agree! To blame a dog's temperament fairly and squarely on the owner is, to me, reminiscent of the bad old days when the behaviour of children with autism was considered to be the fault of the parents. Brains - both human and canine - are incredibly complex, and the slightest chemical or neurological malfunction can result in serious difficulties.
How, otherwise, can you explain how parents who have brought up other perfectly OK children, then go on to produce one who has behavioural problems? Similarly, many posters to this forum only have problems with one of their dogs....it's the perennial and unanswerable nature/nurture debate, of course. Both have an influence, but please, please, don't say it's
always the owners at fault. :-)
