I grew up with terriers and still own three. I find them very easy little dogs to train and you can get them to do almost anything. When i got my first Jack russell puppy, i took her to puppy classes and she was top of the class and did what was asked of her every time..... until...... terrier mode kicked in and no matter how well trained she was or what distractions I used there was know way in this world she was doing what she was told. So I decided as long as she had a good recall I was happy. If she decided to go off chasing rabbits, so be it. Next doors cat soon learnt to keep out of the garden too.
I think what i'm trying to say is that they all want to hunt, catch, and kill and in my experience no amount of training will get that out of them, it's what they were bred to do. Good luck with her, they are fantastic dogs and she will give you hours of entertainment.
