My bitch was due to be wormed however has came into season early and as I am going to mate her I wasnt
sure if it was ok to worm her this close to mating? I do plan to worm from day 40 anyway if she's confirmed
in whelp so not sure whether I should wait or worm now anyway?
I usually use Pancur liquid 10% as I have had problems with drontol and other one off tablets giving them
bad tummies.
Advice would be appriciated.

I always worm my bitches if being mated when they come in season (as well as for m day 40) and the rest of the pack is wormed at the same time.
Then they all get wormed again when the last of the pups leave, or when the one we keep has it's 11 week worming (whichever comes later).

I worm everyone at the start of a season where someone is going to be mated and again when I start the course on who ever is pregnant at 40 days.
Never seen any worms from anyone including pups.

Mine had to be wormed the week before breeding and a few days after as we travelled to Europe so needed to be wormed before entering the country we were going to and before coming back into ours. Used Milbemax chewy - no problems at all.

(as well as for m day 40)
Do you use Panacur 10% suspension?

Yes, for my gnag it works out the most cost effective, and they get a multiwormer that covers tapewrom too, in the summer.

You mention 'in the summer' is it different for winter?
Thanks I will worm all my girls then. They were all due in feb to get wormed anyway.I just wasnt sure if it was too much worming just now and then again at 40 days post mating.
Thanks everyone
Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy panucur 10% liquid?

I thought hyperdrug (aka canine chemists) was reasonable
Just ordered wo bottles from vet uk. £1 cheaper per bottle than Hyperdrug and free postage so saved £7 :)

Tape worm are passed on to dogs by fleas, and they are most prevalent in summer.
