I am desperate to get some weaves, I am pretty set on channel weaves. Who would you recommend buying from? And what type would you suggest? (I have been looking for second hand ones since the change in width but have not been successful in finding any yet).

For reference I am in East Anglia

Have you tried the agility sites? agilitynet.co.uk ,  http://agilityforum.agilityaddicts.net/

We have the Premier ones - not the cheapest but very good quality.

I have used the 2x2 method with my youngest dog. In my opinion it is a much better method and I would not use channels again. In fact I recently sold my channel weaves.

I too prefer 2x2 weaves. After using other methods it has by far given the best results in my dogs. I bought my 2x2's from First contact but they sell channels too. They are very good sturdy bases but do come with plastic poles so I bought a set of wooden poles from RVA to go in them (have a dog that snaps poles).

Or you could try the flea market on agility net to see if anyone is selling any although id imagine they would be the old spacing.

Thanks for all replies. I am regularly looking at the flea market on agilitynet, currently waiting on someone to call back who has full agility set to see if they will sell as separate items.

Thanks also for the advice about 2x2 as I have only ever worked straight weaves or channel. I don't mind if they are old width, so I'll keep looking and fingers crossed. I'll look at first contact, RVA have always been very good, it is just the time you have to wait for your item to be built....

I have used both channel (swivel base type) and 2 x 2 with my dogs. The younger dog is a hound and had no problems at first with the channels until they were within an inch of being straight. Changed to the 2x2s and she picked it up within a couple of sessions on 4 and 6 poles. The following week said dog decided she was capable of doing the full set of 12 in the straight set.

The 2x2's are good, but watching dogs at training, they do not suit all. If the dogs is drivey and independant thinking they seem to do well with them. Those that arent tend to do better using other methods be it channel, V or lure.
