Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / exasperating text!

Just a little rant, sorry in advance lol
Today I received a very polite text from someone who claimed to get my phone number from my Champdogs page.
They wanted to use my boy at stud. (he is not advertised as available)
They have a girl who "will be ready to stand for a boy in the next few days" (obviously they have not planned this mating in advance) Apparently she has been hearing tested and she is pedigree but not KC registered?
Now I replied that my boy was not available, and that I didn't know anyone who would let them use their dog on a none KC registered bitch but I just know that they will find someone with a boy eventually.
After discussing this with my none-doggy savvy family they asked me...If she is health tested isn't that the only important thing? why does she have to be KC registered isn't that only for showing?
I tried to explain (again) that without this registry there are no rules to abide by eg: age of Dam at time of whelp, number of litters allowed and gap between them, control of puppies breeding etc via endorsements, hopefully they now understand but what about this poor bitch that I turned away and her future puppies....I hope my services will not be needed via our breed welfare in the future when these puppies are adolescents!!
I just feel that I'm swimming against the tide sometimes!!

If your bitch owner has an unregistered bitch how can she know if your boy is suitable, it is all down to guess work. Rant on.

I think suitability doesn't come into it Nova, it is probably more to do with distance? I suspect they live in my area, hence my comment about me seeing the offspring in the future through welfare :-(

Stick to your guns , and if you know where they are , knowing they might find some one who will let them use their dog , watch for the offspring.....

I'm dam sure it has nothing to do with the suitability of the match either.
