Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Trimming hair on paws!

My OES pup is now 14 weeks old and his hair is growing profusely! Great!!!
Trouble is when I am checking between his toes I see the hair is getting thick and long in between them, I know I have read somewhere that this needs to be trimmed. I wondered how long I should let it grow before I trim it ?

thankfully he seems to enjoy grooming and having ears eyes and toes checked!!

thanks for any help!

Jude

I'm not talking show trim, but put your finger under the foot and pull it upwards through the toes, and trim of and hair that sticks up. Hope it helps. Jackie

Thanks for the info! I was not sure how to do this but will tackle it this evening!

We do not plan to show him so it is for his comfort I want to do it!

Hi Jude, as jackie has said, pull hair away from pads and trim, with my spaniels I also pull the hair up between the toes and trim level with toes, to keep those pesky grass seeds at bay, and also cuts down on mud trapsed around house :D Julie:)

Try to get a pair of scissors with rounded ends. It's a whole lot safer with a struggling dog! ;)
