My friend's vet told her about this company and one of the nurses at our vets has taken out insurance with them. I was looking for insurance for one of my younger ones and went with them too. No experience of dealing with them claim-wise so far (and thats the vital bit).

I'm just looking at insurance for our new puppy and £18 per month with Vets MediCover seems very cheap, although the cover is good.

Has anyone had any reason to claim?  I'd be interested to know what happens to premiums at renewal too...

My vet also recommended Vets' MediCover last year.  I switched the policy because the price was half the price of pet plan for my breed!  I've just had to claim for an abscess on the jaw and they settled everything quickly and paid the vet directly.  All seems good so far!

Has anyone had any claims experience with this company yet? Im looking at insurance just now and I spoke to them and they confirmed that even for older dogs and ones with extensive claims history the one price still fits all which is amazing and also that the excess remains the same for all and that is £80 with no addition of a % after a certain age etc. It sounds immense but as its still a young company I would love more feedback before signing up my little one to it

Just looked at the website - apparently it's a fixed price for dogs of £28 although some breeds cover is £38 a month.

Since my last post I had to make a claim. They emailed me a claim form with no 3rd degree questioning and paid up very quickly, so no complaints from me.

I took out Hattie's insurance with them last year following massive price hikes from AXA and then it was £18 a month (and £28 for select breeds). Halfway through the year the price had changed to £21 a month. As your link shows it's now gone up to £28 so that's probably what my renewal will be. It's still a lot cheaper than most quotes for a nearly 6 and a half year old Dobe but if it carries on going up it won't be long before the prices are in line with other companies. I thought it was too good to be true.......
