our puppy is 10 weeks, i crate her at night after supper play and toilet usually about 10.30ish. I settle her in her crate and then go to bed she normally wakes between 5 and 6am no problems (if a little early!) however when i do the school run i think she is barking and crying in her crate as when i come back i can hear her and she is panting. I wait for her to calm then let her out and praise her. Do you think i am doing this right as i dont want her to panic but i want her to become happy to be left at times shopping etc. She will be able to come on the school run with me soon.

Do you leave her with anything to play with or chew on?  Either a King or stuffed bone, something to take her mind off the fact that you have left her for a short while.

Have a practice during the day and walk up the road or something so she gets used to being left and to being praised when you return - hopefully this will lessen her anxiety.

yes i leave her with afew toys and a biscuit bone and a chew toy so she has stuff to keep her occupied. she goes in the crate quite happily during the day and the door is open so hopefully its just a thing that we can work on over time. shes a lovely little though but as my oh says im a pushover!

Have you tried leaving the radio on ? Maybe Radio 4 or similar with voices rather than music.
