Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Order of Judging

Hi. I don't know the practicalities of giving a proposed order of judging for show societies but wouldn't it be great if they all did. I have a new puppy and (as I'm sure most of us do, get to shows early to settle them having left before the crack of dawn to get there) sat for hour in the freezing car or freezing hall waiting for classes that don't start until the afternoon. There is also the issue of the dreaded car parks, where they quickly fill up with the whole entry and not just those in the first classes/breeds.
Big plea to show secretaries: if it's not practical to put a proposed order of judging in the schedule can it go on a website/fossedata/dog press.

Lots do, thankfully, but it can be very difficult timing your arrival, even allowing 5 minutes per class plus 5 minutes for each breed change. But I agree, it certainly makes life easier to know that you're 10th in the ring so don't need to be there when the show opens!

Can't say I've ever attended a show where order of judging wasn't given in the schedule??(Or for champshows if not in the schedule, posted to you with your passes.)

There is a show this weekend and no order of judging in the schedule - nothing in the dog press - a friend has two breeds so trying to plan if clash or not - she has been trying to ring for two days to speak to the secretary - she then managed to speak the chair yesterday and was told the running order would be on secretary's answer phone - sadly as yet nothing!

Also was an error regarding judging start time - on the front said 10.00 and the back 9.30!

So guess I'll be getting there for judging start and hope for the best!

That's weird because in the 30 years of showing most haven't shown expected times.  I love it when you do get a time!

One local show I have attended, shows Groups scheduled for the morning and Groups after 1pm it does make parking much easier. Also the toys and Utility who tend to have lots of cages, trolleys etc. have mostly gone when the Larger breeds arrive. I do hate it when you have to try and battle through a whole waggon train of cages etc. To get to the ring.
If some can do it why not all ?

Oh no yet another show this weekend for which I can find no judging order. Please, show societies, I don't want to wait for hours in the cold and rain with my puppy.
