Got my 4yr old CKCS booked in for spaying this friday at 8.40am........guess what....
The lil tinker has come into season early....last night she started cleaning herself a lot more, checked her tonight and a slight show of dark blood was there. My guess is the vet wont spay her now, but Im ringing him in the morning to double check.
she normally goes every 5mths....my daughter keeps asking her if she knows shes getting her puppy bag out on friday...shes the one who put the mockers on it!!!!

Hopefully the vet will not see fit to spay . Ideal time is half way ..so 3 months from this season.

Definitely postpone the spay for 3 months; spaying during a season should never be done unless it's to save the bitch's life.

Lol typical Cavalier! I agree with the others, best wait 2 or 3 months. :-)

Have checked her this morning several times and no sign of any blood....taking her to vet later for checkup and will def postpone if she is coming into season.

It is a far easier operation for the vet if your bitch is between seasons.  If it's easier, that makes it quicker.  And less time under the anaesthetic for your girl.

So, unless it was a real emergency, any vet would want to delay for about 12 weeks.
