Hi All,i am a little concerned about the amount my bitch is bleeding and wonder if  anyone has any words of wisdom for me?? she was mated 6 days ago and her bleeding had all but stopped but since this morning she is dripping bright red blood and a fair amount of it,i don't remember this after  her last mating..

Any ideas????

I have no idea I am afraid - but I'm sure some one might ?

our girl did this too, seemed like she had come back into full blow season about a week after mating, she is in pup though and i was told not to worry about it as long as its not smelly or anything x

It's a fallacy that bitches stop bleeding after being mated.  It's just a question of differing seasons.

One of my bitches actually bleeds quite heavily.  She continues to bleed throughout mating, and right to the end of her normal season.  She has perfectly normal whelpings, and pups are fine.

I find it fairly common for my bitches to bleed more heavily after mating. Always puts the wind up me till I remember :-)

I think the fact that the colour pales off to straw colour in many cases, makes the return of the bright red more suprising.

Thanks all, its much better today. She bled for at least a week after mating last time,  just like a normal season but this time i was quite shocked by the volume of blood, although seems to be decreasing today.
