I always make my own (from the Delia recipe) and it is lovely.  'Bought' cranberry sauce tastes like having jam on your dinner to me!!  :)  :)

It's really cheap, easy to do and takes next to no time--I always make my own and add a little brandy to it once it's cooked through to liven it up :-)

Call me bizarre (many have and many will) but I like the 'jam' type. My late father always used to make his own cranberry sauce, usually involving lots of red wine - but I still asked to have some of the stuff in a jar.... turkey, stuffing & CS sandwiches don't work with with the home-made sort.

I use something like 2 fl oz to a half kilo of cranberries plus a good bit of sugar and mine sets to a fairly jammy consistency. It has never fallen out of a sandwich yet :-), sounds like your father might have been putting in a lot more liquid than I do :-)

This thread is almost making me cry by the way.... I am desperate for one of the above but it's a race against time, I forgot to buy bread and I am going to have a panic attack if the T an d/or S runs out before I can get to the shops for bread (the CS is in a jar and lots left thankfully).

OMG!!! I feel your pain Christmas would be incomplete without a turkey, stuffing and cranberry sarnie!!

Brie, grape and cranberry makes a good alternative if the turkey disappears before you can get your bread :-)

Yes it would if some how one naughty flat coat puppy hadnt pinched the brie !
