Topic Dog Boards / General / Pretty collars for giant dog

There was a tread a little while ago with a link to this website with loads of handmade fabric/webbing collars..
On the site you can select what type of collar you wish it to be (eg. flat, half-check, with clip, with chain etc) and loads of different fabric designs(in different sizes e.g small dog, medium, giant)...

I wanted to get my girls girly pretty half-check collars but can't find the website or the post, I have tried all words I can think of and tried googling etc and am starting to think I have dreamed all about this website!
My girls are giant so pretty pink etc designs are difficult to come by or cost loads but I remember this site to be very reasonably priced (especially their discounted lines).
I saved it in my favourites so that next time I will need to replace their collars I will know where to go but have since changed computers.

Few people recommending the people in the post so some CD users must know who I'm talking about :-)!

Not sure who you meant but I've had some reasonably priced collars for my large breed working gp girls from here.  They have a sale now and again.

Actually, looking at it now their collars are leather but they're still pretty :-) And the service is very good too.

Thanks everybody.
None of the links is the one I am thinking of!
I'm sure it was CD where I clicked to get to the page so should still be able to find the thread but can't.... Very Frustrating!

My girls are right little swamp monsters so need fabric collars for everyday use :)
and I only do half-checks due to a horrible accident few years back where my girl pulled her head through(never had done before) and got hit by a car.
So all my dogs will wear half-checks now wether they are likely to slip their collar or not.
This limits the selection available as there are very few places with pretty designs I have found :( without a price tags of +£20 per collar, which to me is too expensive for fabric collar...

Are you sure it was CD forum because I read another forum with a lady who makes lovely made to measure collars in pretty stuff. Do you visit other forums?

These are the best I've found for daily jumping in ponds, streams etc. They're made from hemp and wash really well. They will export to you, or maybe someone here stocks them these days.

Got the girls some patent leather collars for their Christmas present last year and the are super. They have even been in the brook and river with them on and look as good as new although we don't let them wear them all the time.

Beware those Earthdog hemp collars that Starryeyes linked to for large, powerful breeds. My xbreed broke 2 in quick succession with no problem at all. First time, he spotted a cat and before I even knew what was happening, he'd broken the collar and legged it across the street after the cat. I contacted the company I'd bought the collar from to express my disappointment and they assured me it was most uncommon for the collars to break (the D-ring had come away completely when my boy had lunged after the cat) and sent me a replacement. A few weeks later, that one broke too in exactly the same circumstances. So my experience is that they most certainly don't last a lifetime. We are very lucky that no harm was done either time.

We now have Eazydog padded fabric collars which have proven to be very robust. Some nice designs too but not sure if they do half checks.
