Last weekend I decided to have a very late or very early spring clean!

I was putting up the Christmas decs and starting cleaning & well it sort of carried on all day! The only thing I couldn't clean was the tiles behind the cooker, my other half usually does the cooking but he never cleans the cooker afterwards and goodness there has been some splash back of grease & lord knows what else on the tiles and I just can't get them clean.

Has anybody got some tips from experience?

Cillit bang is good for grease. Im sure there are some other more 'traditional' suggestions like lemon juice or something :-) but i use the cillit bang and it works wonders. With grease you really need to get OH in the habit of cleaning it every time he cooks as it makes life so much easier than periodically cleaning the build up

use a stanley knife blade or paint scraper to remove most f it then use detergent to clean the rest.

Try spray on oven cleaner,if it works on an oven it should work on tiles.

I have a steam cleaner, and that seems to get through most things. Mine is the large type and has attachments for wallpaper striping and oven cleaning etc. I got it on a special offer from B & Q about five years ago and it has saved a fortune in buying different types of cleaning products.

I use a good old brillo pad to remove grease but you might have to be careful not to get it on the grout if its white.

I used Cif Cream Cleaner & a metal cleaning brush which did the job perfectly :)
