Topic Dog Boards / General / Muzzle for a staff

I work with dogs (walking) and one of our customers is having problems finding a suitable muzzle for the staffie to wear. He has a very chunky head, same size as his neck and has slipped his collar in the past so wears a harness. I'd rather not delve into the situation as it isn't my dog, but suffice to say there was a minor injury to a co-worker and we have only agreed to continue walking him if he wears a muzzle.

I was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction for some suggestions for the owner as they apparently cant find one that fits.

Thanks :)

It's a pain trying to find a muzzle for Staffies, the only one I found to be any good on my small SBT is the new, Ultra one from Company of Animals http://www.companyofanimals.co.uk/products/muzzles-travel-and-visibility/muzzles/baskerville-ultra-muzzle as well as fastening in the usual manner, it attaches to a collar under the chin and over the top of the head so is impossible to get off. The other option is to get one made, http://www.fordogtrainers.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3 I got one from here but I cocked up the measurements and it was too big, great quality though, I ended up donating it to Deed Not Breed for one of their client's PB's.

You may need to do a bit of searching on line but I remember a company once at Crufts and they will make them to order, take loads of measurements so they fit perfectly and the dog is comfortable and can pant, take treats etc if needed.

Thanks guys, I'll check out those links, only problem is I think looking at that first one may put the owner off. They really dont want him to wear one but its one of our conditions of still taking him out. I'll forward them on though :)
