Hi All,

I know the subject of collars comes up quite a lot on the forum, but I wanted to ask a question regarding which type of collar is most suitable for Nando.

I HAVE to have a collar on him at all times in the house. I simply don't feel safe without him having it on as there are people coming and going in our house and although I always remember to shut the gate and lock the door, not everyone does and I do worry about Nando getting out. I know some people prefer to only use a collar for walking however I much prefer to have the collar on whenever he is awake and out of his crate.

The problem comes from the standard webbing collar that I use for him is that it seems some what restrictive to his 'turkey neck' (Not sure of the correct term- dew lap?) He isn't showing any signs of discomfort but I do want something that 'hangs' a bit more, such as a half-check or a check collar, however being an overactive puppy, I do worry he could get it caught on something and choke himself!

Any thoughts welcome. I remember a topic on this a while back but I can't find it now!

Josh

Is this the thread you were looking for Josh? http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk/board/topic/130170.html

I was going to suggest a roller leather collar, which the above thread mentions. There's also mention of a martingale collar (a material half check rather than material and chain).

That is exactly the one I'm talking about! It is always the way that someone finds it straight away after I've spent ages looking!

Thanks!

Josh
