Took my bitch over this evening and she was up for it, the stud was VERY keen, However he was not managing to hit the spot, thses are a giant breed dog and he is quite abit taller than her, she's not flagging fully or pushing her self at him, and he's aiming more to the anus and over her tail/back, but he is giving it a really good go, he is experienced/proven.

any ideas on how we can help to get him in and hopefully a tie, if its true that her reading is 14NG rather than 14NM ( fit and fertile testing ) then we need the mating to take place asap tomorrow morning. going to get over there as soon as i can.

Can you arrange for her to stand on a step or facing up a slope so that she is slightly higher than him

A dog that is a bit taller than the bitch is perfect, he probably just needs someone to guide him in.

hes more than a bit taller LOL probably about 5/6" taller at the shoulder at least, he's a beast and she's smaller and compact.. were just gonna have to help somehow tomorrow, blooming faff around... just hope we can get him in tomorrow other wise were going to miss AGAIN..!!!

I agree with chaumsong.  Sometimes you just have to be hands on. 

The stud dog owner would usually get their boy used to accepting help.  I sometimes guide my boys if they haven't got the aim quite right!

is it a case of actually getting hold of him/it and guiding it in to her..???

If she isn't tilting back enough, one hand under her vulva.  As he is thrusting, it's just a case of guiding him (you don't actually put it in your self!)

I actually get my boys used to me touching their penis.  Only a dog person would talk like this!!

I don't think you'll need either of them, I would be concerned about any lubricants effect on the little swimmers?

Also you should have about two days for optimum fertility from the reading.

As others have said it is better to aim the bitches vulva at the dog than touching his member and perhaps putting him off.

The way I have done it is to spread my hand in the bitches groin, with fingers either side of her vulva

Yes, in my limited experience that's worked best for me too - then you can feel with a small hairy breed like mine, what's going on down there! :-D

If the stud dog owner is not experienced then I would seriously consider letting him be handled by someone that is. There is a fantastic chap in Crewe who is well reknowned. If the stud dog owner was 'up for it' then I would go to him.

Going to speak with Fit&Fertile tomorrow, see if they think it's worth it or not, she said yesterday that we had up to this afternoon to get a mating in..?

I would also go tomorrow for another try as now the dog knows where to aim. If she's gone over she'll let you and the dog know.
