Topic Other Boards / Foo / Sat Nav help - Garmin

Hi
I've got a Garmin Sat Nav and it's not finding a postcode I need to get to tomorrow - can any of you with a Garmin check whether it works on yours, or should I be complaining to Garmin?  I'm looking for GU34 4HH, which I can find by using Google maps but want to know if my sat nav is faulty?
Thanks!

Have you tried using the street name instead?

No problem just on Post Code with my 2008 Garmin Nuvi 250 UK and all Europe.

Try Brockham Hill Lane which seems to be adjacent.

Hi Jan, this happened to me when I tried to set mine to go to Peebles in the Scottish Borders.

I don't know if this would apply, but I was trying to set it for a Scottish post code from my home in England. You have to actually choose the country as well if the destination is in another country.

It could be the particular map version you have on your Garmin, mine is horrible out of date because I am so mean I would rather get lost than buy a more up to date version.

Now if you can wait for one of my hounds to move so I can open the draw I will see if I can raise that post code.

Ditto, not updated since we got it in 2008, but it's pretty good except that new bit of road going to Coventry from here it thinks we are taking it cross country, LOL.

When it gets too out of date will just get a new one as that is cheaper than paying for updates.

LOL Brainless wonder if it has to do with our choice of breed :-)  When I went to Kelso earlier this year it kept telling me to go round non-existent roundabouts but now the A1 is duel all the way up to north of Newcastle not a roundabout in sight.

And the route from me to Peterborough is a totally new road and it drives the poor lady on my sat nav up the wall she almost spins on the spot.

OH has a Garmin Nuvi 310 delux, updates cost £100, you get 4 a year for the lifetime of the equipment, he's a courier so needs up to date road info.

GU34 4HH in his sat nav takes him to 'Howard's Lane' :)

As a new Sat nav is under a £100 I didn't feel teh updates were worth paying for.

Just used the address for now and will contact Garmin as it seems to work for everyone else. Thanks all! :)
