brought her in the house in blanket and she was freezing, all this time had to get my 5 year old ready for school and my 9 month sorted,
my mum came over too,
she was on a drip all day at the vets and is home now still not 100% she has a collar on and still got tube in her leg as she might need to go back on drip again tommorrow

Donna so sorry to hear about your bitch, can't help with your question because the word gastric means to do with the digestive system and is not a condition or an illness, well that is what it means to me.
May be he said something like gastric enteritis an may be you were so worried you did not hear.
It's disappointing that your vet didn't fully explain your dogs condition to you - or check that you understood what he/she said. It's always an emotional time though and not always easy to get your head around the language your vet uses.
I can only think of Gastroenteritus, as Nova has said, or Gastric Torsion. Neither of which is terribly helpful to you if it's a guess.
I'd suggest you concentrate on keeping her comfortable for tonight and give your vet a call in the morning. Do you have another appointment booked in?
>vets have said they treating her for gastric
'Gastric' simply means something to do with the stomach. 'Gastroenteritis' is inflammation ('itis') of the stomach (gastro) and enteron (lining of the intestine) which could have many causes.

My guess would be gastroenteritis but I'm sure you could ring to confirm. I'd be surprised if it was torsion - that would have been a surgery job.
hi sorry all it is gastroentertis sorry could spell it shes much better today didnt have to go on drip either
i think she had a bad ear infection as her ear was bit smelly and black and didnt like it being touched,
i took her to my vets last week and it was fine but bad yest so dont know if that was the cause, got drops for her ears now
she needs to go back again tommorrow for another check so will mention her ears again
thanks for all replies
