Topic Dog Boards / General / Memory Foam Bed - Recommendations pls
- By Boxacrazy [gb] Date 24.11.11 22:35 UTC
My 3ftx3ft memory foam bed for the dogs has suffered a doggy accident catastrophe and needs to be replaced...
it's 4-6inches deep.

Any ideas of where would be a good place to start looking and will need to get a waterproof cover too.

Recommendations gratefully received

Its much cheaper to try a child's cot or cot bed mattress complete with waterproof cover. Obviously the size will be different but you can get one from amazon for under £40.

Bought bed and replacement covers on e-bay recently. As you probably know the memory foam beds can be expensive.

I bought a lg (3x2?) memory foam off cut on ebay for £15 inc delivery a few years ago. If you could but a mattress cover to fit that is a cheaper way of doing it than buying the beds.

Yup, managed to get this one as a complete bargain (£20)...unfortunately over the past few years
it's taken rather a battering only this time it's suffered an accident that will not be repairable..
So time to be disposed of.

Dogs have loved the support it gives and it's like a 2inch memory foam top on a 4 inch foam base.

The bit the is confusing me is that you can get memory foam crumb beds as well as my old type that I have.
It's wondering which is best and also which supplier is good as if you are paying reasonable money you want
a good quality bed that is going to last (along with a waterproof cover),

Have two veterans and 3 young uns and they all take turns using it.

So it's which type to have a serious look at and who are the best 'sellers' to look at.

Thanks :)

I know they are hellishly expensive but I've always hankered after one of these http://www.orvis.co.uk/store/product.aspx?pf_id=3A69&dir_id=6259&group_id=6260&cat_id=7394&subcat_id=7395&adv=9766&scrdr=1&cm_mmc=paidplacement-_-google-_-orvis_dog_beds-_-9766.

Never used eBay so can't advise you on that but in the past have used the foam egg box type mattress toppers & folded them in half to go in a cover which my oldies appreciate, or every so often when the memory foam mattress topper gets replaced on my bed the dogs inherit it.
