>Then I saw a big(ish) kennel at the end of their garden (its a big long garden) with about 3 or 4 golden labs in going mad barking. I though it was terrible. And I guess the only reason they are at the ent of the long garden is so the household can not hear the barking or crying.
> Nothing wrong with kennels per se; if you have a bitch in season then it can be sensible to kennel the dogs out of the 'danger zone' (not the bitch, obviously, as you don't want her scent travelling over the whole neighbourhood more than can be avoided). Also if you have to be out of the house all day it's better for dogs to be in a warm, secure kennel with attached run rather being shut indoors, possibly even in a crate, for hours alose, unable to get out to toilet.
