Hi any advice please,
Background !!
I have 2 GSD males (whole) 1- 7 month, 1-8 i/2.
Look after daughters 2 daily while she is at work,1 -18 month old bitch,1 -10 year old neutered male.
The problem that I am now having is my 8 1/2 year old male is waiting until my OH has left for work ( he has been out in garden for his business & played with OH) is then pooping & peeing in the kitchen (no problem cleaning up ,mosaic tiles & raw fed.) before I get up.That is about 15 mins later LOL
Is he regressing ,Is it because daughters girly in now just come into 2nd season. Will be going to daughters daily now to see to hers as she lives just round corner. He has not taken any notice this time ,on her first season he tried to get a leg over 3 weeks before her season .Or is he now feeling pressure with pup growing up ??? ,Please help !!!

I would say that it is partly (big part ;-) ) due to the fact that the bitch is in season. His routine is different and he also know that you are going round and seeing her, without him. Also due to you having a new male around that could be seen as a rival in love he is regressing (or marking his territory if you like :-) )

I would take him out more often and encourage his brain to work a bit more. If you could change your clothes and shoes before meeting him after being round to see to her might also help.

Are you sure that your OH is giving the dog enough time to do his business etc? For example if he is playing with him, that might be more important to the dog, and so he might not do his toilet. Do you see what I mean? :)

Thank you for replying ,I know that OH has given them time to toilet as he lets them out into garden whilst waiting for kettle to boil for his coffee lol.
they also have another time out in the garden as he gets his equipment for work ready ( back door is always open after he is up until he goes to work, which is why I dont get up until after he has gone to work (to blooming cold ).He then takes them out of the garden to dell (woods) behind our garden to play ball.
It just seems to be just before Bella comes into season ,first season he thought she was interesting 3 weeks before. This time the pooping & peeing indoors.Saying that for the last 2 days no problem !!!

Is he supervising them during these times to make sure they relieve themselves, or are they out there on their own?

No he is not supervising them. He is getting ready for work.We have never had this problem up till now so I really think that they are going normally ,even pup is house trained .Its just the older one this last week.OH gets up opens back door they go out to relieve themselves ,when done they come back in ,as said door is open for approx a hour,So if they come in to early ,they can go out again if they need to. Older dog just seems to wait until OH has gone & in the 15 mins that I take to come downstairs he has pooped & peed I could understand it if it was pup but older dog up until now has been OK .

I'm not sure the initial reason matters too much at this stage, unless you suspect a medical issue.  The solution is more important than the cause otherwise it will develop into a habit.

Either you or your OH need to supervise the dogs when outside.  Start using a 'command' whilst the dogs toilet and reward them when finished.  Remember that most boys like to go more than once and many dogs avoid the outside when it gets damp and cold - they're not daft - and like you would probably prefer to stay in bed during the dark and dismal mornings.

It's not unusual for some dogs to revert when the clocks and the weather changes.  You just need to up your training for a while and work with your older dog's timings.  He probably has quite a predictable bladder, which follows a spell of pottering around, and your timing is a bit off.

Thanks for replys,
This dog can & does open the back door daily to go into a secure garden ,also can open back door when closed to enter the house . This is a dog that has had this same routine for the 4 + years that I have had him so has had the changes in dark /light mornings OH rises at 6am leaves for work at 7ish I am up & down stairs by 7.15 (no long lie ins here) So he is left in kitchen & dining room for a max 15/20 mins .He knows that I am upstairs as he sleeps in our room .He has a allergy (under vet) in a ear ,but no other medical problems .

I'd ask your hubby to pop him in a crate for the short time from when he leaves to when you can let him out and supervise him again, this will break the habit.

Seasons are very likely the underlying cause.
