A while ago a Champdogs Quiz was mentioned.... I have no idea how it was set up or even if it still exists.

I've just set up a new daily trivia quiz for anyone that's interested (I love quizzes). I've named it Champdogs Challenge and it's only open to people who find the link on here.

You will need to register with FunTrivia to take part, but after that you can join in every day. You can use your CD username or another of your choice if you want to remain incognito.
There is a table of daily scores against other group players, each earning points, and the tournament runs over a month with the winner going onto the group's league of Champions.

I did notice the main FunTrivia site has loads of dog-related quizzes, so feel free to explore those. However, to make the Champdogs Quiz dog-related only, I think I'd have to pay ;)

It used to be that you could pick whatever subjects you wanted -only dogs, only cats, a mixture, different subjects each day etc. Trouble with the dog questions is, so many are americanised and it puts you off when you get questions like "What is the best way to train a dog to avoid a snake?" and the correct answer comes up as punishing the dog for looking at it, in a nutshell. I used to do them all (lots of different dog and cat ones created by different groups) religiously every day, then found that there was a reason for why some people managed to score 100 % correct in 19 seconds (when it takes longer just to read all the questions) -there is such a simple way to cheat.  :( Sorry to be on a downer, not my day today, maybe I shouldn't have said anything -quizzes ARE lots of fun.

I used to do these quizes regularly.  The same old questions come up and you can know the answer after reading the first word :)

Ahah, so that would require a memory then.... I'll need to pop along to PC World and see if there is any RAM that is compatible to me :-)

Yes, the same questions do come up regularly..however, also lots of questions about USA sports which I haven't a ? about!

Might have to do this on the desktop PC tomorrow....trying to do it on the lappy is very sloooooow using the touchpad.

Not bad considering my lack of general knowledge, I only know dogs, Queen music and Dr Who! :-p It's weird that it won't let me play under the login I already had for my cocker forum that has a quiz on that site.

Suppose mine wasn't bad either , forgot about the time challenge , got distracted by telly , must try harder to concentrate tomorrow :-o

Won't let me play under this name for the other quiz I do on there, and vice versa... I guess you have to register individually for each tournament.

Loved today's quiz as its all animal related.  First time i scored 10/10 woopee!!

I'm dreading the geography one, that and maths are a total mystery to me lol.

There are other subjects such as Movies, Music, Literature, People etc.
It was hard to know what to choose really! :)

The other option is just to have Trivia most of the time (as we started with), and then maybe once a month we have a special Challenge, e.g. History Week or Literature Week, just to make things more interesting!

I have never worked that out Marianne!  I have been doing the 2 quizes (spelling looks wrong to me?) for years and I always understood that the 10 questions come out at random so that if you do the quiz and then I do the quiz we may have different questions!  However when I did this new quiz first the other day and then went back to the old one (I have to sign out and then sign in again with the new one but not the other two) I found exactly the same questions - but the answers were in a different order.  So I got 10 pretty quickly and felt rather guilty - sorry Oldilocks couldn't help that!  No point in cheating is there - no satisfaction.

well that's a surprise, I got all the geography ones right !....some were lucky guesses.

Ha Oldilocks!  I get great satisfaction beating you by 1 second!  Nice to have competition - I don't look at monthly scores much though.  Time was that the winning person of the month had their photo put up for following month - MsTemeraire - idea?

Ahhh.... seems not, I don't remember much about South America in today's quiz. There *is* an anti-cheat facility that gives everyone different questions, I know it operates on some categories but wasn't sure if it did for single subjects.

No - I play CD daily and Champdogs trivia - the old ones - just ceejay there too.  I keep thinking that they will be stopped but I think they are just on a loop of subjects so can be unattended.  I keep going because a couple of the others do too.
