Hi,I've just noticed my 7 month old puppy bitch has a nobbily hock,in horses it's called a capped hock, and don't go away very often.Do they tend to stay on dogs,or would some rest see it go down. She is very active and bouncy,so she doesn't do herself any favours.

Think I would leave this to someone who also has horses and I don't understand the term. Just looked it up and I have no idea, take it you mean the hind leg, seen something similar on large breeds where it is a sort of bag of fluid and I think if does not go down it has to be removed.

I'd get a proper diagnosis from a vet.

I'd talk to the breeder and get a vet to have a look if I were worried.

I find that a conversation with my breeder is often my first port of call - if nothing else I then get to the vet better prepared with information to both ask and answer! :)
