I just wondered how long it takes for hip scores to come back?I had my girl done yesterday, and the vet who we've never had before, said that one hip looked better than the other,so I'm really nervous of the results, and hope the new young vet is wrong, and we get good scores! Thanks
- By PennyGC [gb] Date 22.09.11 15:18 UTC
Just depends when the panel sit, vets can offen 'get it wrong', I took 2 in for hip scoring to my experienced vets and they said one bitch was more even than the other and looked 'spot on' but weren't sure what the other one would get.  Result? well yes the one bitch was uneven at 4:6 and the even one was even at 7:7 but acceptable anyway.  My first one in they said she looked fantastic and was 8:8! So, best not worry too much about it, you need to wait for the results :-)

My last lot of hips results took about a month to come back :)

We had our dogs x-rayed on 16th August and the BVA scored them on the 8th September. The results were available on the KC Health Test Results Finder on 13th September. The Vet received the results Monday 19th September and I got the Certificates in the post yesterday morning (22nd September). Hope this helps, I was surprised that the results were available on the Kennel Club Site a week before either the submitting Vet or I had been informed, but heyho, the KC is a law unto itself :-/
- By Jolene [gb] Date 22.09.11 20:58 UTC
I had my bitch scored at Vets on Tuesday 30th August, scores were done on 14th Sept, appeared on KC website 15th Sept, arrived back at Vets on 16th Sept :-)
- By mumsy2011 Date 24.09.11 12:39 UTC
I know,my last dog that was hip scored,a friend knew what the results were, before I did, down to the KC site!
- By Bex72 [gb] Date 24.09.11 13:06 UTC
We had one scored back in April and the results are still not on the KC website!  Took 7 weeks to get back unlike the set we had done this time last year that took 14 days.

> We had one scored back in April and the results are still not on the KC website!

Have you contacted the KC about this.  Similar problem with a health result on a Friends dog, contacting KC got it sorted.
- By Bex72 [gb] Date 24.09.11 14:49 UTC
Last thing we were told was that they still hadn't received them.  I gave up calling them after the third phonecall.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 24.09.11 19:00 UTC
Send them a copy, it si important that the health test checker is up to date.
- By mumsy2011 Date 12.10.11 14:20 UTC
It's been 3 weeks today, and I've still not heard anything, does anyone know, when the panel last sat?
- By satincollie (Moderator) Date 12.10.11 14:31 UTC
I know they sat on the 29th September. HTH
- By mumsy2011 Date 13.10.11 11:47 UTC
Thank you, they shouldn't me much longer then! :~
- By Brainless [gb] Date 13.10.11 21:26 UTC
it does depend on how many they have to get through, as it can take 6 to 8 weeks, even though they sit several times a month.
- By mumsy2011 Date 28.10.11 19:21 UTC
Does anyone know when the next panel is sitting?I have another hip x ray booked in for Thursday, thanks.
- By mumsy2011 Date 06.11.11 09:20 UTC
I have been told, that the panel are sitting on Tuesday,8th November,so hopefully not too long to wait anxiously!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 06.11.11 09:51 UTC
A bitch I bred shows as having been scored in the first week of October, so looks like they are only sitting monthly? (was told in the past it was twice a month) or of course there could be a backlog as a friends boy had his sent off the first week of October and still waiting.
- By mumsy2011 Date 06.11.11 12:23 UTC
My friend was waiting 7 weeks and heard nothing, she contacted BVA,the vet hadn't sent them,so she's hoping hers will be scored Tuesday too!I thought it was twice monthly too.
- By mumsy2011 Date 06.11.11 12:24 UTC
How do you know they've been done?
- By mumsy2011 Date 12.11.11 19:24 UTC
What is the quickest results anybody has had?
- By ridgielover Date 12.11.11 19:34 UTC
Six days - back in 1995
- By Goldmali Date 12.11.11 23:25 UTC
so looks like they are only sitting monthly

Very recently it was weekly. You may remember my thread about having the form returned as I had put stud book number instead of KC reg number. I contacted the kC and they put the BVA in touch with me and the BVA told me then (October) they were sitting weekly.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 13.11.11 00:07 UTC
They must have a backlog as my freind has been waiting since September.
- By mumsy2011 Date 13.11.11 07:58 UTC
I hope mine come back before the beginning of December,as my bitch is due in season and I'm planning on mating her.
- By Goldmali Date 13.11.11 11:13 UTC
If somebody has been waiting since September I'd suggest getting in touch with them. The plates I had were taken 23rd of September but because of the stud book number didn't reach them until October, and I've had the score back a couple of weeks now.
- By mumsy2011 Date 13.11.11 11:18 UTC
My friend waited 7 weeks,so she contacted the BVA,and was told her vet hadn't sent them off!!,she was also told, they sat last Tuesday(8th),and she would have her results about 10 days after.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 13.11.11 12:01 UTC
Just contacted my Friend to get her to check with her vet and the BVA as she too is expecting a bitch in season for this boy within next few weeks.
- By Bex72 [gb] Date 13.11.11 16:49 UTC
I know of a couple of people who have had them done in October and scores have come back this last week.  Two weeks for one.
- By mumsy2011 Date 13.11.11 18:57 UTC
Thanks,I'm too impatient for my own good!My bitch was xrayed on Thursday 3rd of November.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 13.11.11 21:13 UTC
A few friends have them done recently and I think they were back within 6 weeks, even shorter a time. If your friend hasn't had results from September, then eithe they haven't been sent, or they have been sent with the wrong payment to the RM and the  Royal Mail have them blooming hidden somewhere as they like to keep incorrectly paid letters for 3 months!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 13.11.11 22:26 UTC
Lord I hope not as the bitch due to be mated is starting to get the boys interest.
- By bluemerlemum [gb] Date 14.11.11 01:43 UTC
Ahh is there still a back log? Hoping to get my youngest boy scored around the first week of December and really really am on egg shells whenever I send in results.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.11.11 18:27 UTC
Just spoke to friend.  Dog X-rayed on 22nd September.  She went in today and guess what the BVA had sent them back for resubmission on 3rd of November, as the Vets had forgotten to include the Microchip number!!!

That's 6 weeks wasted!!!  and 7 1/2 since they were taken.

So a call to BVA in morning on the books to see if they can hurry them onto next sitting, as bitch could come into season any time.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 15.11.11 18:56 UTC
Just looked at the procedure notes and thse parts may be of interest:

"6. Results
The results of scoring are normally sent to the submitting veterinary surgeon within three weeks from receipt by BVA of
the correct submission...............

6.1 Requests for Results
(a) Pending results:
(i) an owner must contact the submitting veterinary surgeon, NOT BVA, for results issued under the Scheme;
(ii) a veterinary surgeon may contact BVA on a client's behalf for results of scoring but is asked to allow at least
three weeks from the date of correct submission before doing so."
- By Bex72 [gb] Date 18.11.11 15:14 UTC
Just called the BVA my girl is being scored today so it looks as though they are sitting weekly.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 18.11.11 15:17 UTC
Yes after the mess up my friend was told hers would be scored today.
- By mumsy2011 Date 18.11.11 18:39 UTC
Hopefully I will get mine back soon then!
- By summers [gb] Date 19.11.11 18:23 UTC
Oh no! My dog got xrayed today, damn, had hoped they had not sat for a while so would not have to wait so long :)
- By mumsy2011 Date 19.11.11 18:35 UTC
My last results came back in 3 weeks,so I'm hoping my latest ones will be back sometime next week.Good luck with waiting and wondering!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 19.11.11 21:17 UTC
The procedure notes do ay they aim to score witnin 3 weeks of receiving them, so with posting between verts etc say a month.

The lady my friend spoke to said they were sitting weekly.
- By mumsy2011 Date 23.11.11 14:07 UTC
Had mine back on Monday,so they only took 18 days, but results aren't on KC website yet.
- By Goldmali Date 23.11.11 14:12 UTC
My latest results were on KC website a week before I got them off my vet!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 23.11.11 15:03 UTC
My friends results haven't reached her Vet or gone on-line yet though she was told they would be scored on Friday last.

She will check on Thursday to see if they have had them yet and ask them to ring if not.
