I'm new to this site and have posted some questions about my new pup and had some really good advice.. since we got our pup on New Yrs Eve.. my husband has been offered a good job abroad,, we can't believe it.. of course now we have the pup I can't go with him,,but would like to think when our pup is older we could join my husband.. could anyone tell me what the quarantine regulations are for Cyprus.. Thanks Sandy xx

If i was you I think the best place to ask would be their embassy which I would presume is in London. I'm sure that they would be able to answer your question.

Hi, which side of Cyprus, as they have different embassys turk or greek? as far as I know and Im sure there is lots of people on the board that will know exactly the right info. If you are coming from uk which is a rabies free country , there is no problem taking your dog out of the country to live anywhere, the main problem is coming back to the uk from other countries, whereupon I would presume that you would either have to go down the route of quarantine once back in the uk, or fulfill the criteria for the petpassport scheme, ie rabies jabs, chipping etc. HTH Julie:)

Ring Defra in your local area they will be able to tell you what you need to allow your dog entry into Cyprus, well any country in the world really. If you decide to follow hubby they will send you the necessary paperwork for entry and advise you of who is your approved vet in your area.

I sent 2 puppies to Germany begining of 02 and they sent me the details for them to travel either by road or plane with necessary documents to be completed for each country they would travel thru if by road and what criteria we had to fulfill for each country.

>>Pets can be brought into Cyprus ports by air or sea, on the acquisition of an import permit from the Cyprus Veterinary Services. Casts and dogs must be accompanied by a health certificate signed by an official government office of the country of origin. They must be kept under quarantine for six months, but home quarantine is a designated area where inspection is available is possible. However there are a number of breeds that cannot be brought into Cyprus – please check with The department of Veterinary Services in Nicosia for further information and for fees and application forms. <<
