Is it advisable to give a new puppy a collar as soon as you get them home. We
have been told it is better to given them a harness when they eventually
start walking out rather that a collar and a lead can. Any advice

hi
I think it is personal choice what you walk the dog with either harness or collar and lead ( sometimes the dog decides:) ) But I would have a collar on a dog around the house ,handy to grab when trying to escape and to hold when your opening the door etc

I get my puppies use to a collar as about the first thing I do when they get home. Apart from anything else it is far easier to hold a collar than a wriggling puppy!

Hi guest,
It is down to personal choice, I put collars on my litters from about five weeks, I also lead train them, I feel its takes a little pressure of the new owner, more from time for them to bond.
It is really what you and your puppy are comfortable with, only you know your puppy.
Best Wishes
