My son was playing with some play doh and dropped some. Tilly my Bullmastiff was hovering and thought it wa food; she ate it before I could even think of saying leave it. I am hoping that as its made for kids that it isn't high up there on toxins etc I am trying to google it now but should I take her to the vets or just look forward to some interesting colour poo? The lump was about a 2cm diameter ball.

From now on any play doh activities will be done when Tilly is safely in another room!!

Found this on their website, sounds absolutely fine :-)

The exact ingredients of PLAY-DOH compound are proprietary, so we cannot share them with you. We can tell you that it is primarily a mixture of water, salt and flour. It does NOT contain peanuts, peanut oil, or any milk byproducts. It DOES contain wheat.

PLAY-DOH compound is non-toxic, non-irritating & non-allergenic except as noted: Children who are allergic to wheat gluten may have an allergic reaction to this product.

There is no MSDS sheet required for PLAY-DOH compound.

when I was a kid I remember eating Play Doh - I remember it because it tasted vile!!! (presumably to stop children eating it).  But vile tastes & smells don't always put dogs off . . .  Mind you - our siamese cat ate the entire hem of a visitors fleece which was hanging over the bannisters.  It was neon green - and so were his garden deposits for some time afterwards . . . Unfortunately I doubt there will be any trace of the Play Doh colour when it makes its reappearance - blue would be entertaining.

I wouldnt worry Kesmei,
It will just be easier for poo picking!!!! You will be able to spot them a mile off, although you might get a few funny looks if it comes out when your on a walk LOL

My son's lurcher ate her way through a box of wax crayons - the poos were astonishing for a couple of days haha

Thanks for all the replies. I found the non toxic thing eventually so its good to see it confirmed. It was the red one she ate - she seems to have a thing for red things as she has eaten a red crayon in the past too.
