I want to thank everyone who's followed Soli's updates about her heart, your well wishes were always very welcome but it is with absolute devastation that I have to let you all know that my beautiful girl has just gone to the bridge :-(

She was relaxing on the sofa, got up a little wonky, went into the hallway and just started staggering with a heart attack.

I am a bit broken but I am glad it happened that way - I was dreading the thought of heart failure, possible fainting episodes and the subequent vet visits on her behalf, she always found any illness very stressful and I know I would have had to send her on her way early anyway.

No more stress my moobag, no more scary dogs and no more scary neighbours now.

So sorry, Nikita :(. 
I hope you continue to take comfort that her end was so swift.

I am so sorry to read your sad news :-( Going so quickly and at home with her loved ones around her is far preferable but still as devastating.

I think Soli is the girl I saw you walking several years ago at Rough Common woods - a beautiful girl :-)

I'm so sorry to hear you've lost your girl, but in some ways pleased that she went suddenly at home, without the stress for you both of sending for the vet. Sleep well Soli - pleasant dreams.

I have been thinking of you and Soli all day. I always find it hard to know what to write but I do know she couldn't have had a better owner nor chosen to pass away any more gently than she did. Sleep well Dobie girl.

Awww Nikita...really feel for You...I always read your posts...and have followed Soli's story....

It almost feels like She has chosen Samhain...when the veil between this world and the spirit world... is at it's thinnest to leave Her physical body....

May She run Free in The Summerlands...and I hope You can find some comfort in the fact that You did everything humanly possible for Her....and that Her passing would have been quick and peaceful.... and in many ways is what we would all choose for our Loved Ones.......if such a choice were possible

Thanks everyone.

I dropped her off at the crematorium yesterday, lovely bloke who is a huge dobe lover himself - so of course he was in tears as well...

But we did laugh when it came to fetching her in, he'd got a bed all prepared for a normal sized dobe bitch, like the ones he's had, then I opened the tailgate... he nipped off for a considerably bigger bed :-P Soli always was a big girl for a dobe.  She only just fit in the bigger bed :-o

Off again in a little bit to collect her, he's putting her in a scatter box for me while I look for just the right box for her.  Traditional just doesn't seem right - she was anything but typical, that dog, so I need to find something special.
