Hi, my dog is entering an agility show in 3 days and she has
devolped a fear of the dogwalk, we're not sure why, what's
the best way to get her over it without frightening her more?

I would say that you can't do anything in 3 days, infact I would never try to work on a problem so close to a show.
You have a few alternatives
1 Go to the show and see what she does
2 Go to the show and only do jumping classes
3Don't go to the show

I would tend to go to the show and either do 2 above or speak to judge beforehand and explain problem. If he/she is agreeable if the dog hangs back from walk just ignore it and go on to next obstacle.

I wouldn't get too stressed my Beardie developed a fear of the seesaw but it passed. Have you asked your club trainer for advice, they will know your dog and will be the best person to ask for help.
Hope it works out

Do you have access to a dog walk, we used to put the sections flat on the ground and walk the dog along it, then gradually increase the height until they are confident again. I doubt you could get you dog back to competition standard in three days but you should be able to overcome the problem in time. Ingrid

Some dogs seem to develop a fear of the dog walk after falling off an object which to them is similar, such as the see saw. My dog refused both the A frame and the dog walk immediately after learning the see saw; she soon attacked the A frame with her usual gusto, but remained unhappy about the dog walk.

We have had a break over Xmas and I did what Ingrid has suggested, which was to start off with flat sections of "dog walk" - initially just a few planks as we dont have a "proper" one at home.

I used the clicker to shape her, but luring your dog with maybe some liver or similar high reward would help a lot :) Reward small steps and build up.

If you use the power of association, so that the dog walk is a wonderful thing, you will crack it :)
