I've only watched the first few minutes so far but it is looking good. it is about the problems of Irish Puppy farms. The beginning of the programme is talking about good breeders and how they don't make money etc.

And 30,000 puppies enter the UK from puppy farms in S Ireland to be sold by dealers and pet shops here in the UK!! We really do not need this we have too many dogs bred here already.
I think people in Ireland are trying to change that...and that is the focus of the programme...how even after several opportunities the powers that be have legislation written and ready to sign...I think for at least a couple of years...the government for what ever reason won't sign.
It also discusses how to find a good breeder and how to avoid puppy farm pups. And if the UK doesn't want them...they should help the welfare organizations to put pressure on the Irish government to sign what needs to be signed so they can shut down and prosecute the offenders AND get UK people to stop buying them...they are being sent to dealers and pet shops because there is a market in the UK and it is financially beneficial.
I think it did a better job of telling Joe Public that proper breeders DON'T make any money breeding pups than PDE did.
It also pointed out good breeders care about their bitches and don't allow them to breed to often.
I thought it was good anyway..
It shows the Irish people for the most part are fed up being know as the country of puppy farmers and want to do something but can't because under current laws the farmers are doing nothing illegal.
Cheers

That was an excellent programme, very well thought out and lots of info on why puppies shouldn't be bought from dealers/pet shops. It also covered the problem of all the unwanted dogs in pounds. There definitely needs to be a programme like it done in the UK.
