Hi
my TT pup(gold and white) is still missing a small bit of pigment on his nose he is 13 weeks on Tuesday , how long does pigment usually take and is there anything I can give to help.

I've given my yellow Lab Dorwest's Elderberry and Nettle extract from 8 weeks because I could tell his pigment wasn't going to be as strong as some.  I think it's helped and other Lab people swear by it so may be worth looking into?

Pigment can take up to 6 months, sometimes even more, to completely fill in. What shade of pink is the missing bit? If it's a pale pink then it'll most likely fill in, but if it's a bright rose-pink then it might not. One of my boys was 7 years old by the time his nose completely filled.

My red merle BCs can take a couple of years to finally get their noses. Blue merles do seem a little bit faster. I've never had one that didn't get there in the end

One of my pug girls always had a little bit of pigment missing from the centre of her nose - I don't see her often, but was amazed to catch up with her in the Summer (when she was almost 4 years old) and found that her pigment had deepened to jet black and was complete closed up.  I have seen pretty frequent photos of her, and as recently as last Christmas the centre of the nose was still pink. Her owner has no idea what she has done to achieve this, she is on Tinned food and mixer, plus some home cooked, not additives or supplements.

A Papillon pup I bred in my last litter had a nose not filled in long after the others had, so I let him go as a pet. My mentor said she'd never seen one have a nose fill in past 12 weeks. Well I visited him yesterday, he is 5 ½ months old now, and NOW his nose has filled in. "Luckily" I almost have to say he did turn out with another couple of faults that wouldn't have made him suitable for showing anyway, as otherwise it could have been a bit annoying LOL. (But of course the main thing is, he's in a great home.)

On the other hand my first Cavalier was sold to me as a pet for the very same reason at 14 weeks, and his nose never filled in.

I read somewhere that adding kelp/seaweed to the diet can improve poor pigment but not had any call to try this myself so can't comment on whether it works or not.
